Echoes of the Tide,2025
Cement Cast 12’’x 98’’ x 37’’

Formed along the Koʻolaupoko coastline, this cast records tidal patterns left behind during Kai Emi—the ebbing sea. Created by taking plaster molds at low tide and translating them into concrete, the piece captures a fleeting moment of ocean movement. It speaks to the natural forces—moon, sun, wind, and gravity—that shape our shorelines, often without notice.

Installed near a culturally significant site once home to Keʻalohi Heiau and the Heʻeia fishpond, Water’s Signature carries both environmental and ancestral memory. It reflects a dialogue between time, erosion, and a deeper awareness of the rhythms that guide and reshape the world we live in.
